Shifts available —– 12:00 Midnight to 6:00 a.m.

 

Union Rescue Mission (URM) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to serving me, women, and children who are experiencing homlessness. Established in 1891, URM is the largest rescue mission of its kind in the United States and the oldest in Los Angeles. We provide a comprehensive array of emergency and long-term services at no cost to guests, including: food, shelter, clothing, medical and dental care, recovery programs, transitional housing, legal assistance, education, counseling, and job training to men, women, children, and families.

 

Responsibilities and Duties                                       

Must enjoy working in ministry related environment. To facilitate the sleeping of guest men in the URM 2nd floor dorm. Register and check guest into the 2nd floor dorm. Update the computer data in regard to bed occupancy on a daily basis. Monitor the 2nd floor dorm while the guest is sleeping .Issue courtesy beds to guest that come in after curfew. Communicate and enforce the URM’s rules and policies to the guest. Comprise a daily wake up list for guest. Carries out all responsibilities in an honest, ethical and professional manner.

 

Qualifications

Spanish is a PLUS! Equivalent to a High School Diploma and 1 year related experience.  In addition, 3 years experience working with homeless. Able to teach and interact at all levels.  Excellent problem solving, planning, organizing, verbal/written skills, PC and project management skills.

But now I stay in a nice home in Gardena,Ca. with my wife and family, I’m a student at Long Beach Harbor Zion Theological Shcool[seminary] and a active member of Greater Faith Missionary Baptist Chuch,L.A.
