LA Fires & Hope Gardens
Our URM staff is grateful for the many calls we’ve received in connection with the recent LA fires.
As you may remember, last year at this time we had to evacuate our clients from Hope Garden’s Family Center. It looks like this year we may be fortunate to escape another evacuation (see satellite photo).
Many of our donors, volunteers, staff and friends have been affected by the recent LA fires that are being deemed as the worst fire in California history, and our prayers go out to them.
We understand how stressful and difficult the experience of being displaced can be on individuals and families. Right now we are serving more families than ever before who are homeless. We are averaging 84 families each night – an increase of 97% over last year!
